Multiplication and Division Facts

We have started our next multiplication and division challenge...ice cream!  Please have your child continue reviewing their multiplication and division facts at home weekly.  Please ask your child which level they are working to pass this week. We will celebrate everyone's hard work to learn their multiplication and division facts with an ice cream party at the end of the year. :)

M-STEP Testing

Third grade M-STEP started last week. We are proud of the efforts of our students to do their best. We have a break this week, unless there are students that need to finish the ELA M-Step. Next week we will start the math portion of M-Step. The schedule is below. There is really no way students can "study" for these tests, but you can help your child be ready for these by:

  • Making sure your child has a good night's rest.
  • Making sure your child eats a healthy breakfast.
  • Providing a positive send off to school in the morning.
  • Not scheduling appointments on these days.

Please note that during the M-STEP testing, all electronic devices, including cell phones, smart watches, and Bluetooth headphones (or any headphones not used for testing), must be turned off and stored away from the work area.

Because of this, we encourage you to keep phones and smart watches at home on testing days. If your student brings one of these devices to school, the device should remain in the backpack and be powered off. Any devices that are not in backpacks will be collected by the teacher and stored in the teacher's area until testing is completed.  Thank you for your assistance with this matter.

Reading Camp

Do you remember going to camp as a youngster? The days were filled with activities as you moved from session to session. Our third graders are going to have a full day of Reading Camp on the Lincoln grounds. The camp day is scheduled for Tuesday, May 30th from 9:00-11:30 and 1:00-3:30pm. We are in need of several items to make this happen, including 2 large tents and one canopy, per class. The tents and canopy could be put up Monday evening or before school on Tuesday morning and taken down Tuesday after school. We will be very careful with them! We are also in need of several supplies for the day.   If you are able to help us, please indicate on the Materials Sign up Genius Sheet below.

Also, we are in need of several volunteers to help make this day happen.  If you can be a camp "counselor" that day, we are in need of volunteers. Please fill out the sign up sheet below  if you are available to help that day. All materials and directions will be provided!  We can always use extra hands and your child would love it!  It's your help that makes this a successful event! Thanks for considering. Click on the link below to sign up to volunteer or to bring materials for the camp.
