Snowshoeing at Sarett

The third grade will be going to Sarett Nature Center this Wednesday, February 1st, in the morning to experience some snowshoeing!  This was a gift left to us from the tribes that were in Michigan long ago.  Wednesday is a late start day, so we will be leaving as soon as school begins.  Please make sure your child is here on time and dressed appropriately for the weather:  boots, snowpants, hat, gloves/mittens, and a warm coat. Parents are welcome to join us, but you must drive separately and meet us there at 10:00 am. Let us know if you have questions! 

Pizza Multiplication

We started working on our Pizza Multiplication this week. Students are working hard to earn a pizza party. For each multiplication level they pass, students will add another piece to make a whole pizza.  Please check with your child to see which level they are working on this week. Our pizza party will on February 14th, the same day as our Kindness Party.  Please have your child continue working on their facts at home.  Learning their multiplication facts will be key to their success in math. 

Valentine's Day Party     

     We will have our class Valentine's Day celebration on Tuesday, February 14 from 2:45-3:35. Your child is welcome to bring valentines to school to pass out to classmates. It is not mandatory to share valentines, but if the choice is made to bring them, please ensure that one is brought for everyone in our class and that each one is signed by your child. A class list will be sent home. Each class list is also linked below. 


We will design Valentine bags in class so this will not need to be done at home. Completed valentines may be brought to school on February 14th.

Other party updates:


If you signed up to help at this party, your child’s teacher will reach out to you. All three classes decided to combine our pizza math facts celebration with our Valentine’s Day Party.  We will have pizza, a treat and a drink.  


Weekly Specials Schedule

Our specials are on a Monday-Friday schedule and the same time each day. 3rd grade specials begin right at 9:25 every day. Wednesdays will be used as make-up days for missed specials, extra computer lessons, music practice days, etc.
