Nutcracker Updates

Save-the-Date

Our third graders will be presenting The Nutcracker for families and friends on Wednesday, December 14th at 6:30. The performance will be held at the SJHS auditorium. No tickets are needed and there is no cost for this event. If for some reason you are unable to attend the night time performance, you can attend the day time performance, which will be at Lincoln Elementary at 2:00pm.

Cold Weather

Now that we are getting into colder weather patterns, please check the weather so that your child has the necessary clothing--boots (when there is snow on the ground), hats, coats, and gloves/mittens--to be going out for recess.  We do go out most days unless it is raining or below zero wind chills!

 

Multiplication Facts

Please continue weekly multiplication fact practice from home.  We started with the 0s, 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s, but will now continue on to 3’s and 4’s.   We are working on these in class, but many students will benefit from additional practice at home.  Resources to use include:  IXL F Skills, Flashcards, using items at home to make equal groups (for our more visual learners) examples would be: pennies, beads, popsicle sticks, etc. Here's another online card sort to try out.


Weekly Specials Schedule

Our specials are on a Monday-Friday schedule and the same time each day. 3rd grade specials begin right at 9:25 every day. Wednesdays will be used as make-up days for missed specials, extra computer lessons, music practice days, etc.
